Law Minister Anisul Huq. FILE PHOTOThe parliament will not be dissolved before the upcoming parliamentary election, says Law Minister Anisul Huq.
Speaking to the media on Monday, he said that it’s prime minister’s call when the polls-time administration will be formed.
His remarks came after attending an event at the Dhaka district land registry offices in the capital’s Tejgaon.
Asked when the House will be dissolved as its last session ends in October, the law minister replied, “First of all the parliament will not be dissolved. According to the Constitution, the session convened by president, which start on Sept 7, is the current parliament’s last session. And Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will make the announcement on the polls-time administration. Not me.”
Responding to a query on the size of the interim government, Huq said that it was the prime minister’s call. “It’s the prime minister responsibility, she can say it.”
