US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat has conveyed her greetings to the Muslims across Bangladesh on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest festival of Islam.
The outgoing US envoy extended the eid greetings in a 39-second video message, posted in US embassy official Facebook page on Wednesday.
Bernicat, wearing a Saree, was seen speaking in both Bangla and English in the video.
“Eid comes, Eid goes, Eid teaches (us) to smile, to love, Eid Mubarak to all,” Bernicat said in Bangla before wishing in her native language.
“I feel privileged to share this Eid greeting one last time before my departure with our nearly 6 million Facebook fans,” she said.
Wishing all to stay well, Bernicat ended his greeting saying, “Eid Mubarak”.

Earl Robert Miller, a career member of the US senior foreign services, will succeed Marcia Bernicat, who joined the US mission in Dhaka in 2015.

Meanwhile, US State of Secretary Mike Pompeo also conveyed his greetings in a video message to the Muslims on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
