Freedom fighter, sculptor Ferdousi Priyabhashini has passed away at a hospital in Dhaka today. She was 71.
Fulesshori Priyonondini, daughter of late Ferdousi Priyabhashini has confirmed this to Bangla Tribune.
Saiful Islam Lenin, Public Relations Department Director of Lab Aid hospital, told Bangla Tribune: “Priyabhashini died at Lab Aid Hospital today at about 12.45 pm. She was suffering from kidney, lungs and other complications. She was admitted to the hospital following a heart attack on February 23.”
In separate messages, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina mourned the death of the freedom fighter.
Ferdousi Priyabhashini was a victim of Liberation war of 71. On 11 August 2016, Bangladesh government gave her recognition as a freedom fighter.
Besides her many other introductions, she is a renowned and prominent sculptor. Many of his nature-based artworks attract the cultural intellectuals. She received the Shadinota Padak (Independence Medel) in 2010.
