No, it’s not the long known fount ‘Subalong’, but here it’s the tale of another hidden fount named ‘Ghagra Jhrana’. A fount hidden from all city chaos and scenario. It’s a very common thing for us that whenever the name of fount arrives we only can imagine of riding a boat over the Kaptai Lake. But here you don’t have to rent any boat for this hidden fount ‘Ghagra’. Only you have to do the thing is walk along beside the place ‘Kolabagan’! And it will take you about half an hour to reach at this enchanter!

It feels refreshing whenever you step your foot up in a cannel of Kolabagn area at Ghagra Union. It’s nearabout 17KM far away from the central Rangamati city. Here you have to walk through the whole way. Sometimes it makes you to crawl down through the way. And after this zigzag trekking you may find your final destination!

At the first sight you will be greeted by calm waves coming from the fount. The specialty of this fount is a hidden one. Even locals too aren’t acquainted with it. And it finds its life back at every rainy season. It’s a common thing for all the founts to be alive with rain, you know! Recently Rangamati authority has given a declaration to avoid this fount for security issue. But proper steps can make this fount a tourist spot beyong all these troubles!

Executive Officer of Kaukhali Upazilla, A M Jahirum Hayat says, ‘First there was no restriction. But recently the Union Parishad chairperson concerned  the lack of enough security. Moreover some locals made hassels beside the fount among themselves. That’s why its all restricted now’.
