Be active in politics: UK MP tells British-Bangladeshis

UK lawmaker Anne Main Anne Main.UK lawmaker Anne Main has urged the British-Bangladeshis to actively take part in political activities and become a member of the House of Commons.
He made the plea while addressing the annual dinner of Conservative Friends of Bangladesh (CFB) held in London on Sunday.
About 250 British-Bangladeshis who are leaders and supporters of Conservative Party took part in the programme.
I want to see at least one British-Bangladeshi MP from the Conservative Party at the parliament, said Main, also the CFB chairman.
It is mentionable that three British-Bangladeshis are currently members of the parliament and all of them belong to Labour Party.
The representation of British-Bangladeshis in the parliament is negligible and the time has come to change the situation, she said.
I encourage them to take part in local and national polls and through them Bangladeshi community here will be benefitted, she added.
Politicians Andrea Leadsom and Tom Tugendhat were also present in the programme.
