The worldwide death toll from Covid-19 or the coronavirus has reached 30,847 with number of infections surging to 664,924, according to figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
Infections have been reported from over 200 countries and regions since first cases were identified in China in December 2019, reports Reuters.
The death toll from coronavirus in Italy crossed 10,000 on Saturday. Confirmed cases rose by about 6,000 to 92,472, the second-highest number of cases in the world behind the United States.
So far, five people have died from virus infections in Bangladesh and 48 cases have been reported, according to IEDCR, the government’s disease control agency.
