Nine dead in Delhi fire

A fierce fire in a clothes warehouse lead to the tragic death of 9 of the 13 people present there, while many people Scorched.At least nine people, including four women and three children, died in Delhi in a fire in a cloth warehouse that broke out early on Monday (Dec 23), reports Xinhua quoting an official in the city's Fire Department.

The fire broke out at around 12:30 am. The building is situated in Kirari area of northwest Delhi.

The godown was situated on the ground floor of a three-storey building, reports NDTV. 

The building had no fire equipment and only one staircase, the report added.

The injured were taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital and other nearby hospitals for treatment.

On Dec 8, 2019, forty-three people were killed when a fire broke out at a luggage manufacturing factory in a crowded area in north Delhi.

Most of the people who died were labourers who were sleeping at the factory in Anaj Mandi on Rani Jhansi Road when the fire broke out at 5 am.

The factory was operating in an area, whose narrow and congested lanes are lined with many small manufacturing and storage units.
