UK Director of the Public Prosecutions Allison Sanders said, “Hate crime has a deadly effect on our society. As a result, this is a priority for CPS. It can affect the entire community. It forces people to change their living style and live in fearful situation.
In this civilized age, people can be victims of the hate crime due to ethnic or sexual nature. Generally, Facebook, Twitter or comment box of popular news sites are used for online hate crimes. 'Hitler was on the right track' - there may be people who think of this as a match. This can lead to a line or sentence and much more.
Many celebrities have also been victims of troll or satire. The British Parliament also talked about this. From a renowned personality to the ordinary people-no one is 100 percent protected from such attack. But on the basis of race, religion or caste, such behavior is condemnable. It's a crime. Whether it is face-to-face or online. These activities are creating division in society. This is the abuse of freedom of expression. These should be stopped.
In April of this year, Scotland Yard announced a special unit to deal with online hate crime. It was announced on Monday 24 April. The Scotland Yard's five-member unit is working to investigate and treat harassment online.
London mayor Sadiq Khan said, “We know it's a terrible impact on people who are victims of hate crime, especially those who are victims of such persecution online. The attackers think that they are hiding behind the scenes. But their idea is wrong.”
For the first time, this specially constituted police force is assisted by the police and crime financial services of London Mayor's Office. Besides, £ 4.5bn pounds will spend from the UK Police Innovation Fund in this case. It is estimated that in two years special unit will cost 17 million pounds.
Sadiq Khan said, 'My move is clear. There is no laziness in this regard. We are trying to help victims of these attacks. We are trying to strengthen their security with the advice of anti-hate organizations. These organizations will investigate what is really doing harm and have to destroy the root.
