Bridget pays tribute to John McCainBridget McCain and her siblings have been mourning the loss of their dad, John McCain, at various memorial services, many of which have been televised, reports New York-based news website Heavy.com.

Bridget McCain is the youngest child of John and Cindy McCain. She was adopted by the couple in 1991, after Cindy traveled to Bangladesh and visited an orphanage during her trip.

John McCain has seven children. Two he adopted from his first wife, Carol Shepp, and one he had with Shepp when they were married. He went on to divorce Shepp and married wife Cindy, with whom he had three children and adopted another. And, it was actually wife Cindy’s idea to adopt their youngest child.

When Cindy McCain first met her daughter Bridget McCain, at an orphanage called Sisters of Charity of Mother Teresa Children’s Home, in Bangladesh, she was asked to help the child, who had a severe cleft palate.

Bridget had been placed in the orphanage after a cyclone hit the area in 1991, but her cleft palate made it difficult for her to be fed by the nuns at the orphanage, according to Telegraph.

Bridget McCain and her brother, Jack.Bridget received national attention in 2008, when Senator McCain was on the campaign trail. At the time, her dad shared her adoption story, and Bridget became more well-known. After the election was over, the McCain family returned to their quiet lives.
