Member of Parliament of the United Kingdom Tulip Siddiq urged Bangladesh government to free prominent photo-journalist Shaidul Alam, reports a UK newspaper ‘The Times’ on Tuesday.
Tulip Siddiq, also niece to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, expressed her concern over Shahid’s imprisonment and she hoped to an end of this situation soon, the report says.
“Bangladesh must comply with the international benchmark to trial its citizens. I hope the UK foreign department will pass its observation to the country over the matter as a friendly state”, the report said quoting Tulip.
She is the latest inclusion to the wave of global criticism in the matter of detaining Shahidul Alam.
