Dhallywood star Shakib Khan recently announced his upcoming film, “Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na.” The announcement came with the film’s launching ceremony at the capital’s Dhaka Club on Monday.
Fans of the superstar have been complaining about the name of the film and were saying on social media that the lengthy title is not appropriate in this day and age. Many Facebook fan pages and fan groups of Shakib campaigned against this title for the last couple of months.
Nevertheless, the film’s director Zakir Hossain Raju declared at Monday’s event: “There is no way to change the film’s name. This is the final decision. The title was chosen according to the storyline of its screenplay.”
State Minister of Ministry of Information, Md Murad Hasan, Member of Parliament Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon, Ministry of Information Secretary Abdul Malek, Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union Director General Shaban Mahmud, and the film’s cast and crew were present at the event.
Shakib Khan said at the event: “This is a sweet romantic story of a couple. A very familiar story. The story will start from a village then move into the city. This film will portray a completely different version of me compared to my recent works.”
“Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na” organized its launching ceremony back in 2013. Back then the film was supposed to star Shakib Khan and Apu Biswas, but it never went into production because of some undisclosed circumstances.
The director again announced the launch of the film with a revised screenplay, written by Abdullah Jahir Babu, and this time Shakib will be seen alongside popular Dhallywood actor, Shabnom Yesmin Bubly.
The film actually went into production in Ramadan and two of the film’s songs were recorded then. The two tracks were penned by Gazi Mazharul Anwar and the film’s director Raju, composed by Shafiq Tuhin. The tracks were sung by Rashed.
Recently, Shakib and Bubly starred in the controversial film “Password,” running in more than 200 theatres across Bangladesh. Fans say the film is a complete rip off of the South Korean film, “The Target.”
