The health condition of singer Subir Nandi, who is undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital, has deteriorated further following another cardiac arrest on Sunday (May 5).

Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s burns unit, confirmed the cardiac arrest citing Nandi’s daughter Falguni Nandi.

 “He was taken into the operation theatre by the doctors after he suffered a heart attack on Saturday morning. Four stents were placed on him,” said Sen, a relative of the singer.

Earlier, the singer regained consciousness on Friday morning. He also started to slowly recognise his family members.

Nandi, an Ekushey Padak winner, was taken to Singapore on Apr 30.

Earlier, he was taken to the CMH on April 14 after he fell ill while returning to Dhaka from Srimangal by a train. The singer suffered a cardiac arrest soon after he was taken to the CMH emergency department.
