Actress Tazin Ahmed dies

Tazin Ahmed died on May 22.

Television actress Tazin Ahmed has died after suffering a cardiac arrest.
According to co-actor Rawnok Hasan and director Sakal Ahmed the actress was taken to the Regent Hospital in the capital’s Uttara, where she was pronounced dead at 4:20pm on Tuesday.
Ahmed told Bangla Tribune they suspect the actress had a heart-attack around 10am at her home in Uttara. She was rushed to a nearby hospital before being taken to the Regent Hospital.
Hearing the news actor Riaz, Rawnak Hasan, director Badrul Anam Saud, Sakal Ahmed and actress Jenny was rushed to the hospital.
Rawnak Hasan said the family is yet to decide on the burial.
A versatile actress, Tazin Ahmed was a television anchor, theatre performer, playwright and journalist.

She started her career on TV during the mid-nineties. Her first TV appearance was on “Shesh Dekha Shesh Noy,” a BTV drama . Tazin continued working in stage theatre too. She had been working for Aranyak Natyadal since 2000. Before that, she worked with Natyajan.

Tazin worked for various renowned media houses as well, including Bhorer Kagoj and Prothom Alo, as a journalist. She had also worked as a public relations officer at Mercantile Bank.

Besides acting on the small screen and in theatre, Tazin Ahmed is also known for her work as a director and a TV anchor, as well as a playwright. “Jatak” and “Jogphol” are two plays she wrote and directed.
