In the early 1990s, Salman Shah broke the typical image of a Bangladeshi film actor.
He instantly turned into a heartthrob with his debut in the 1993 movie “Keyamat Theke Keyamat”. But just three years later in 1996, the promising actor was found dead in his home at the age of 25.

Almost two decades later, actor Siam Ahmed is set to debut in upcoming movie ‘Poramon-2’, playing as a fan of Salman Shah.
Combination picture shows actor Siam Ahmed (left) and collage of late Salman Shah.Siam is seen in a song, which was released on the internet on Thursday, donning the attire of Salman Shah.
The song, written by Kolkata’s Priyo and sung by Akash, is indeed about the actor.
But two days earlier, Siam drew flake from Salman Shah fans, when a photo from the song was out on the social media.
“I consider Salman Shah as my acting guru and I am a big fan. I did not play Salman in the movie rather a fan,” Siam told Bangla Tribune.
“I do not dare to be like or compare myself with Salman Shah. Let me make it clear once again, I played as a fan in the movie.”
Describing Salman Shah as ‘ever-modern’, the newcomer said, “We still follow him.”
Siam, who is set to debut in movies, has worked in TV dramas and commercial. He came in spotlight with Redwan Rony’s “Bhalobasha Eksho Ek”.
A lawyer by training, Siam had taken a break from acting until “Poramon 2”, where he has worked with actress Puja Cherry.
Directed by Raihan Rafi, the movie is expected to hit the theatres during the Eid.
