The life of Sanjay Dutt, a well known Indian actor is full of tragedies. After losing his mother he also lost his first wife who died of cancer. In addition, the court sentenced him to five years in jail for purchasing illegal arms from those who were involved in the ‘1993 Mumbai blasts’.
Recently in an interview with a TV channel, the 58-year-old actor recalls what his family had been through when he was locked away in Jail.
His children Iqra and Shahraan did not know about his imprisonment. They knew that their father was busy in his shooting. But they were eager to know about their father. So, often they asked their mother to call him.
He said, “Children these days are so smart. My kids would ask Maanayata (his wife) to call me. She would lie that I'm away shooting in the mountains where there is no network. Luckily the jail authorities allowed me one call every fortnight, and I would make that call to them,"
In the interview, he was asked what would happen if his children know now about this. He said, “I'm waiting for them to grow up so that I can tell them my story in detail."
Sanjay Dutt returned home last year after finishing his prison life. He is back on the big screen with his latest film, 'Bhoomi', which will be released in the next week. In this movie has shared his screen space with Aditi Rao Hydari who plays his daughter’s role.
