The bodies of five people have been recovered from Kaptai Lake after a tourist boat capsized near the DC Bungalow area in Rangamati.
The incident was reported on Friday (Feb 14), said local police.
According to police, the boat was heading toward Sublong while it capsized near the scene. The locals immediately dived into the lake to rescue the passengers and recovered the five bodies.
The deceased have been identified as Rina, Shila, Asma and Afroza while another person is yet to be unidentified, said police.
Meanwhile, three others went missing as another boat capsized in Karnaphuli canal under Kaptai upazila, said local adminisration.
According to the concern authorities, the rescue operation is underway.
