Four die in Gopalganj road crash

At least four people including a policeman have been killed and 11 others injured in a road crash on Dhaka-Khulna Highway.

The incident was reported around 3am on Saturday (Sept 21) from Shonashur area in Sadar Upazila of Gopalganj, said Bhanga highway police OC Ataur Rahman.

The deceased have been identified as Bijan Howlader, 25, Rasel, 24, Komol Mondol, 25, and Sub-Inspector Abdur Rashid, 35, posted at Gopalganj police lines.

“An Emad Paribahan bus has slammed into a parked truck in the area, left its three passengers dead on the spot and 12 others injured,” Gopalganj Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Md Jane Alam told Bangla Tribune.

“Critically injured Sub-Inspector Abdur Rashid was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” said the fire service official before adding, “Rest of the injured have been admitted to Gopalganj General Hospital."
