Three members of a family were wounded after they were hacked when an attempt to occupy homestead in Ashulia's Awakpara area, Savar. This incident occurred on Thursday (October 12). Police reached the spot and recovered the injured and admitted them to the hospital. However, no case has been filed yet. Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Awal confirmed the incident.   

According to local sources, on Thursday night local UP member Khalek attacked Sirajul Islam's house with 20/30 perpetrators. At that time, the attackers wounded Shirajul Islam, his wife Bithi Begum and son Sajal. At one stage, attackers left them thought they were dead. After receiving information, Ashulia Police Station recovered the injured and admitted them to Savar Upazila Health Complex.  

The victim, Sirajul Islam said, ‘There was a dispute with Majibur Rahman Bisa, a local inhabitant, with our homestead. Local UP Chairman Shahab Uddin Matbar gave us notices for three times regarding this matter. But we returned the notice of UP chairman as a case was related to the court on this. Since then Khalek, the UP member patronized by Local UP Chairman, threatened to kill us.  

UP member Khalek Mia denied the accusation and said, "I was staying in the house of UP chairman at the time of the incident and I'm not involved in this occurrence."

However, Ashulia Union Parishad Chairman Shahab Uddin Matbar was contacted several times on the mobile phone but he was unavailable.

Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Awal said, "We are preparing to file a case regarding this occurrence."
