Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridge minister Obaidul Quader said, "Local and foreign quarters are plotting to kill the prime minister as they are jealous of her popularity over Rohingya issue.”
He claimed that the Myanmar government would take back Rohingya due to international pressure.
He said this while responding to a question from a journalist at Naikhongchhari Upazila in Bandarban. He went there to distribute relief among Rohingya people.
Quader said, ‘The ongoing UN session discussed the Rohingya issue and we observed everybody is concerned. The issue has been discussed with due importance at the forum like United Nations.’
Among others, Awami League central organizing secretary Enamul Haque Shamim, relief affairs secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, the prime minister's personal assistant secretary Saifuzzaman Shekhar, general secretary of the Volunteer League Pankaj Deb Nath MP, and representatives from BGB and district administration were present.
