Representational imageIn the past, holiday for most people meant a trip to the village but with a burgeoning middle class with disposable income to spare, holiday abroad is very much part of the culture in Bangladesh.

Tourism operators and agencies say that every year, 50-60 lakh people go to different countries for holiday.

As per the president of Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh, TOAB, Toufiq Uddin Ahmed, Indian High Commission alone gives 6000 thousand visas every day; this is followed by Thailand and Malaysia.

However, an exact number of visitors going outside is not available.

Many people choose Eid time for their holidays.

Meanwhile, small motorcyclist travelling groups have emerged and one such is Team- ABS. Members of this group headed towards Chuadanga on 6 June.

One member says: “we love riding bikes and so go from one place to another for fun.”

Moving in a team develops camaraderie, unity and a bond, adds the member.
