Internet users in Bangladesh soared by 1.98 million to reach 98.14 million in August, according to the latest figures by telecoms regulator.
Mobile phone-based connection has contributed the highest with 92.36 million users to the tally, followed by WiMAX 40,000 users while ISP and PSTN have occupied 5.74 million users, says the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Sunday (Sept 22).
Besides, mobile connections saw a slight rise with total active connections now stand at 162.58 million in August, which were at 162.12 million in the previous month, the BTRC said.
