Bangladesh has the ability to operate Bangabandhu-1 Satellite with its own manpower, says Telecom and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar.
He was speaking at a programme to celebrate the successful launching of Bangladesh’s first-ever satellite at Hatirjheel in the city.
“We don’t need foreigners to operate the satellite, rather our boys can do it from Gazipur and Betbunia ground stations,” said the jubilant minister.
The minister said three French instructors are providing training to young Bangladeshis.
“The instructors told me that the trainees are so brilliant that they have the ability to operate the satellite,” he said.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that Bangladesh has achieved a rare feat by launching the satellite.
At the end of the prgramme fireworks continued for eight minutes.
