Internet bandwidth usage has increased by at least 15 percent, keeping the 11th national election in view, while usage of different apps has increased by 20 percent.
Internet service providers feel that during the time prior to polls, bandwidth usage may double.
Currently in the country, 850 GBPS (gigabyte per second) Internet bandwidth is being used.
General Secretary of Internet Service Providers Association (ISPR) Imdadul Huq says, “Due to upcoming election, internet usage has soared since communication among people has risen.”
One other operator says, “We have seen a marked rise in the usage of data and every day net usage is increasing phenomenally; this can also be due to the expansion of the 4G coverage.”
Officials of International Internet Gateway, say that usage of bandwidth has soared by 15-20 percent as compared to normal times.
