Bangladesh girls beat Pakistan 14-0 in SAFF championship

Bangladesh girls have started their SAFF U-15 Women’s Championships mission with a 14-0 win against Pakistan.
The defending champions scored an astonishing win in the B Group opener on Thursday Changlingmithang Stadium at the Bhutanese capital of Thimphu.
Midfielder Shamsunnahar alone scored four goals
Bangladesh netted six goals in the first half.

Monica Chakma scored the second one from a brilliant free-kick at the 17th minute.
Two minutes later, Tohura headed in a long ball from defender Akhi Khatun to make it 3-0.
Bangladesh U15 TeamStriker Shamsunnahar netted the team’s fourth goal in the 31st minute.
Skipper Maria Manda made it 5-0 with a powerful left footer.
The next minute, Akhi scored the sixth goal from 25 yards out.
Bangladesh finished first half 6-0.

 

Bangladesh continued to crush Pakistan in the second half.
Sajeda Khatun netted the ball twice within ten a 10-minute gap in the 48th and 58th minute respectively.
Defender Anai Mogini scored two goals in the 60th and the 88th minute.
Shamsunnahar scored four goals at the 50th, 54th, 57th and the 90th minute.
The 90th minute goal was an outrageous backheel clinical finisher that rubber-stamped Bangladesh’s dominance in the game.

 

 

The final whistle came with a whopping scoreline 14-0 in favour of Bangladesh.
The girls, however, fell one goal short to break their own record as the U15 team crushed Bhutan 15-0 in 2015.
Monika Chakma (jersey number 7) was announced the ‘woman of the match’.

In the day’s another match, India beat Sri Lanka 12-0 in the Group A opener.
Bangladesh will play their second group game against Nepal on Monday.
