Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan’s press conference on Tuesday (Oct 22) regarding the ongoing protests by top cricketers of the country did not provide an exact resolution to the ongoing issue.
The BCB boss believes that the strike called on by the cricketers is part of a wider “conspiracy.”
Nazmul also asked, a number of times during the press conference, for the cricketers to come forward and meet the BCB to place the demands officially while claiming that most of the demands are already being taken care of, and has passed the ball to the cricketers’ court to decide whether they would like to get back to regular cricket activities.
The strike has put the ongoing National Cricket League on hold and cast uncertainty on the future of Bangladesh’s preparation camp ahead of the tour of India which was scheduled to begin from Thursday.
Under such circumstances, the cricket fraternity is widely discussing over the next possible move that is likely to come from the cricketers.
The BCB chief’s claim about the movement being a part of wider conspiracy and that, only one or two players know about it, is being thought to leave a question mark among the players.
Many are even in doubt if the movement will eventually sustain given that some of the cricketers might walk out and join regular cricketing activities.
In an effort to find some insight, it could only find that the cricketers are either tight-lipped or unreachable – something most media personnel commonly experience.
However, one thing that can be understood is that the cricketers remain unified.
The third round of the National Cricket League is scheduled to start from Wednesday however, with no cricketers present in their respective divisional camps, it is understood that there will be no action on the field.
Not all cricketers from every divisional team have been made part of the ongoing movement by the cricketers thus, those who are not a part, have gone back to their respective homes.
As far as the national preparation camp for India tour is concerned, the national team staff members are scheduled to report to work Wednesday with uncertainty on whether they will have any cricketers to train on day one of the camp Thursday.
