Archer Md Ruman Shana has become the first Bangladeshi to win a medal in World Archery Championship.
He bagged the bronze medal after beating Italian archer Mauro Nespoli convincingly by 7-1 sets during the recurve men bronze final in Netherlands on Saturday.
Ruman, who qualified for Tokyo 2020 Olympics earlier for being among the top four, cruised to win the first set with 28-27 points and clinched the second set with 29-28. The third set ended in a stalemate 29-29 before Ruman won the fourth set 29-27 points to seal the historic victory.

Ruman’s form has been evident throughout this year as he won the silver medal in the Asian Cup Stage 1 in Thailand earlier in May.
