Muhammad Aamir’ five wickets haul has powered Pakistan to restrict defending champion Australia to 307 all out despite opener David Warner hit a century in their World Cup match on Wednesday.
Australia were looking for a massive total after openers Aaron Finch and Warner built a 146-run partnership in Taunton.
Finch scored 82 off 84 balls and Warner added 107 with 11 fours and a six.
It was Warner’s 15th ODI hundred and the first one since his return from the suspension over ball tempering last year.
Australia, however, continued but failed to produce any big partnership as they lost wickets regularly and were all out in 49 overs.
Aamir took five wickets spending 30 runs while Shaheen Afridi bagged two and by Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali and Muhammad Hafeez picked one wicket each.
