The Bangladesh cricket team will be returning home on Saturday (Mar 16) after most of the players narrowly avoided being caught up in the shootings at two mosques in Christchurch on Friday that left 30 dead.
In the aftermath of the events, the third and final Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand has been cancelled.
“The team is expected to land in Dhaka at 10:40pm on Saturday,” Media Manager of Bangladesh Cricket Board Rabid Imam told Bangla Tribune.
At first, the management was concerned whether the team would fly together or in groups as tickets were unavailable.
“The whole team will now fly together after the tickets have been arranged under special arrangement,” Team Manager Khaled Masud told Bangla Tribune.
