WI wins T20 series opener

West Indies has won the first of three match T20 series again Bangladesh with a dominating performance at Sylhet International Stadium.

Carribean opener Shai Hope hit the third fastest T20 fifty in 16 deliveries and took his side sailing to required 130, set by Bangladesh in the first innings.

The visitors won the match by eight wickets with 9.1 overs to spare.

A  Shai Hope struck the third fastest T20I fifty to help his side stun Bangladesh in the T20I series opener on Monday at Sylhet International Stadium.

Earlier Tigers won the toss and chose to bat first but were all out for 129.

Skipper Shakib al Hasan’s 61 off 43 deliveries was the only show with the bat in the Bangladesh innings.

The remaining matches are scheduled on Dec 20 and 22. Both the matches will be played in Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

West Indies is looking to bounce back and end the Bangladesh tour on a better note after they lost both the Test and ODI series against the Tigers.

Should team Shakib ends up winning the remaining two T20 matched, it will be the first time they will win in all three formats in a tour.
