All of those who joined the Awami League from other parties are not intruders rather the wrongdoers are infiltrators, said the party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader.

“All of those who joined our party are not intruders … if there is no allegation of wrongdoings or link with communalism against them, they’re not infiltrators. The wrongdoers and those who have links with communal forces will not be placed in the fresh committees of the AL,” Quader told the media after a meeting with the party’s joint general secretaries and organizing secretaries at the AL central office at Bangabandhu Avenue on Friday (Nov 8).

Hoping that all the disputes will be brought to an end by the forthcoming National Conference of the party and its associate organizations, Quader said, “The party want to see healthy competition among the leaders and activists and it will not tolerate any sort of sick competition in any circumstances.”

He said that Awami League does not have the practice to kick out their activists, only there will be changes in the posts as no one will be in office for a lifetime.

The senior party leader added that the BNP leaders are leaving their party due to its negative politics.

AL Joint General Secretaries Dr Dipu Moni, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, Organizing Secretary and State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, AL Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Central Working Committee Member Nurul Islam Thandu, Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Rajshahi district AL President Omar Faruk Chowdhury and General Secretary Asaduzzaman Asad were present on the occasion, among others.
