“A freedom fighter was not allowed to enter the country for which he fought; this is shameful for the nation. We do not want a repeat of the incident.”
His remarks came on Thursday, while paying respect to party founder Ziaur Rahman on Nov 7, which the party observes as the National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
Calling Khoka a valiant freedom fighter, Mirza Fakhrul, said: “He served the nation and people; the government lodged a false case against him.”
“We are taking an oath today to uphold the freedom and sovereignty of the nation and ensure democracy.”
He accused the government of making Bangladesh into an ineffective state. At this time, other BNP members, Dr. Khondokar Mosharraf Hossain, Dr. Moin Khan, Selima Rahman and others were present.
