Krishak League president and general secretary are accused of dissolving the final committee approved by AL president and the PM and handing out posts as per their wishes.
Krishak League’s president Motahar Hossain Molla has admitted to some aberrations but the allegations have been totally denied by the general secretary, Shamsul Huq Reza.
AL president Sheikh Hasina has ordered for the conferences of four sister bodies, including Krishak League by November this year.
Many leaders of Krishak League allege that the president and general secretary cut off names recommended by Sheikh Hasina and included others in the committee.
Admitting to the allegations, Krishak League president Motahar Hossain Molla, said: “Several members in the committee have died and their places were given to new members.”
However, general secretary, Shamsul Huq Reza says: “I have heard such allegations but am not aware of any irregularities.”
Recently arrested president of Kalabagan Club, Safiqul Islam Firoz, used to introduce himself as a Krishak League leader but after his arrest, Motahar Hossain disavowed him saying he did not belong to the party.
Several members of the party alleged that many were given posts through unethical transactions.
From Netrokona it was found that the last Krishak League council was held in 2011 and Keshabranjan Sarkar was appointed as the president and S M Kamrul Hassan Shahin as general secretary.
Later, this committee was dissolved and Keshab was made convener and Shahih Uddin joint convener. Within a year, the central committee gave a letter dissolving the committee, reinstating the 2011 committee.
