BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir speaking during a human chain demonstration organized by the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, in front of the National Press Club on Sunday (Sept 22). The Awami League government should immediately step down and declare fresh election under an impartial commission, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
His remark came during a human chain, organized by the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, in front of the National Press Club on Sunday (Sept 22).
“The government has now resorted to gambling after failing at all fronts,” he said and added that they can’t continue it for long.
“Corruption surged in Bangladesh because police and other law enforcement agencies only work according to the instructions given by some powerful and influential people in the government, who only want to serve their personal agendas,” the BNP leader said.
Fakhrul then reiterated BNP's demand for the unconditional release of their incarcerated chief Khaleda Zia, who has been convicted in what the party claims were framed charges.
