Awami League leaders are proving their predilection towards corruption, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
He made the remarks on Friday (Sept 20) during a human chain arranged by Judo Dal to demand the release of imprisoned party chief Khaleda Zia.
Alleging that under AL rule the country is in a state of anarchy, he said: “We have always respected the post of university VC and now find that even such persons are engaged in bribe taking.”
Referring to unrest at Islami University and Gopalganj University of Science and Technology, he added: “Even university teachers are linked to unethical practices.”
Alleging that all sixty casinos in the city are run by Jubo League leaders, he observed: “This is proof that the government is instigating corruption and is incapable of running the country.”
People have understood that as long as this government is in power there won’t be any justice or security, said the BNP leader.
Regarding Khaleda Zi’a ailing condition, he said: “She cannot walk now and is deprived of proper treatment. But the government is not listening to our calls for right medical attention, which is Khaleda Zia’s right.”
