The Jatiya Party has rescheduled its national council, shifting it to Dec 21 from the earlier announced Nov 30.
Chairman GM Quader made the announcement on Wednesday (Sept 11) during a preparation meeting of its student wing Jatiya Chhatra Samaj at the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
"We earlier fixed November 30 for the national council. Our council venue IEB is not vacant on that date. Therefore, we fixed December 21 for national council,” said Quader, who was flanked by Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga.

Speaking of the party leadership following its founder HM Ershand's death, Quader ruled out any possible conflict among the leaders.
"JP has time to show its strength in the coming days," he said
The JP chief also ordered the leaders of the party's youth front Jatiya Chattra Samaj to hold its council by October this year.
