Party flag of Awami LeagueGrass root level leaders of the ruling Awami League (AL) have written down their organisational problems addressed to the party chief, submitting them in envelopes.
Recently, AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called leaders, activists from grass root level in three stages for face-to-face interactions.
The party workers came from remote areas, listened to their leader and took directives. In that special extended meet, only a handful got the privilege to express their opinion.
But there was also a provision for others to open their hearts to the party leader and, therefore, important issues faced by grass root leaders were written and given in envelopes.
AL central leaders have confirmed that Hasina will go through the letters and make an effort to address all the issues mentioned.
Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap told Bangla Tribune: “The letters have been taken to the PM; she will read them and decide on the prudent course of action.”
Central leaders have said that most letters contain grievances about internal conflict.
Some letters also carry recommendations for work which will boost government’s image, they said.
Grass-root level workers outlined issues of concern in letters to avoid becoming victims of vengeful influential leaders of their respective areas.
It’s believed that letters also make recommendations about possible nominations for the upcoming elections.
Central leaders say that the party president will read the letters and take action in areas where the organizational structure is feeble or afflicted by problems.
