“The incumbent government is a fraudulent one,” he said during a program at National Press Club on Tuesday (Jul 20).
“You’ll see corruption is rampant everywhere if you talk to investors and bankers anywhere starting from villages to cities,” he said.
He added that the ruling Awami League was “dividing up everything from TR [Test Relief] and Kajer Binimoy Khaddo to mega projects amongst themselves.”
“I heard that each of the pillars of the metro rail and elevated expressways have been divided up amongst the ruling party leaders,” Fakhrul claimed and added that the “foreign investors were forced to do so.”
“The ruling party leaders are plundering everything and democracy must be brought back to save the country,” he said.
Saying that the government has failed in terms of industrial development, he added, “Garments have become synonymous to industries now.”
Responding to queries on the recent drama on rawhide prices, he said that the rawhide industry was in grave crisis and the religious institutions and orphanages took the worst hit from the drop in prices this Eid-ul-Azha.
