“The rule of law hasn’t been established in the country even though there have been changes in power,” he said in a media statement on Thursday (Jul 18).
He added that public and police administration is being misused for the sake of the ruling party and impunity has made the criminals more active in the society.
Condemning the threats and extortion made to Gano Forum leader Latiful Hamim Bari, he said, “Because the rule of law hasn’t been established people are being killed in broad daylight, murders are taking place in judge’s chambers, extortion demands and murder threats being made.”
He demanded the ones behind the threats be arrested and given exemplary punishment.
