Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader speaking at a program on Thursday (May 30).AL general secretary, Obaidul Quader has said that failing in triggering a proper anti-government movement, BNP is carrying out negative propaganda. Quader alluded to the BNP while talking about the circulating rumour that human blood will be needed in the construction of the Padma Bridge.

Saying that conspiracies are afoot in and outside the country, he asked all workers to remain vigilant. Quader, also, the bridges and transport minister, made the comments, on Jul 11.

Saying that BNP is jealous that Bangladesh is constructing Padma Bridge with own funds, he commented: “unable to stand the progress of the bridge work they are propagating the absurd rumour of that one hundred thousand decapitated head will be needed for the bridge.”

The veteran AL leader also exhorted everyone to stand against cyber- attacks.

Democracy is not in jeopardy, asserted Quader.

Saying that Khaleda Zia is in prison as a result of court proceedings, he observed: “she can only be released through legal means; the judiciary is independent and the government does not interfere with its operation.”

Quader also warned about taking everyone in AL.

“Marked criminals, terrorists, radicals and anti-liberation forces cannot be part of AL.”
