Jatiya Party chief HM Ershad will be kept on life support as long as there is hope of him getting betters, said his younger brother GM Quader.
“Ershad’s health condition is still the same,” he said while briefing the media on the former military dictator’s health on Thursday (Jul 11).
“His health has improved in certain cases while deteriorated in others,” he added.
“His blood pressure and pulse rate is stable. He is breathing normally as he is on oxygen and he is also undergoing dialysis,” he said citing doctors.
“He will be taken off life support if liver, kidney and vital organs start functioning normally,” said Quader, who also serves as the party’s acting chaiman.
Responding to a query, GM Quader said, “We are prepared to take him to abroad. But, after consulting specialized doctor at National University Hospital in Singapore, we decided against it. He is receiving world class treatment.”
The 89-year-old leader opposition was admitted to the CMH on Jun 26 and his condition hasn’t been better since then.
