Ruling Awami League will not allow any anti-liberation elements during its ongoing campaign to recruit new members for the party.
“Awami League will not recruit any anti-liberation element or individuals with communal background,” said General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
Quader, who is the road transport minister, was speaking to the media at a meeting at his offices on Dhaka on Thursday (Jul 4).
His remarks come after the ruling party’s began its countrywide drive to recruit new members on Monday (Jul 1).
The senior AL leader said there will be no place for war criminals and their successors in the party.
