Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ‘finally realised’ that the people have no confidence on her and the government, says the BNP.
“Addressing the Awami League Parliamentary Board meeting on Friday, Hasina called party leaders to work to win the people’s trust, which to me means she finally realised that the people have no confidence on her,” said Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Saturday (June 23).
“The ruling party are busy in looting, bank embezzlement, extra judicial killings, which caused a steep decline in voters’ confidence. If the prime minister realises a little more and left the power to a neutral government then it will be a blessing for democracy”, he added.
He said, “The Bangladesh Awami League has the history to establish fascism and anarchical government through poll rigging in the country. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) believes democracy and participatory election process which is absent in AL. Discussion and dialogue is the first and foremost condition for democracy and AL is ignoring the matter.”
