BNP Standing Committee member and former minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. This administration does not have "moral authority" to present the national budget in parliament, says senior BNP leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.

Describing the financial outlay for the next fiscal as debt-ridden, the former commerce minister said, “The government has confined the country’s entire economy.”

The BNP Standing Committee Member argued that the government has kept the deficit at Tk 1.45 trillion in the 2019-20 budget, which amounts to five percent of the GDP.

“We, people will be sufferer to meet the budget deficit. The government will fill up the deficiency through collecting money either in hacking gas or electricity price,” Amir Khasru said in his spontaneous budget reaction.

Amir Khasru was talking to reporters at a Banani hotel in Dhaka soon after Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal placed the national budget for 2019-20 fiscal.

Claiming the budget as big, the BNP leader said the budget will affect the daily life of people adversely.

The government held the December 30 national election keeping people out of the election process and placed the national budget for 2019-20 fiscal following the same path, he claimed.
