The polls-time government will be formed in October, says Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
“The polls-time government will be small. But it’s totally the prime minister’s jurisdiction,” he told the media on Wednesday at his offices in the Secretariat.
“The next election will be an all-inclusive as a lot of parties will participate. The election will be held in time, even if the BNP sits out,” said Road Transport Minister Quader.
“I don’t understand the BNP’s concern over taking part in the next election. They have floated candidates in the city polls. They won in Cumilla, took part in Khulna and Gazipur as well as in Barishal and Rajshahi,” he said.
According to the senior ruling party leader, the administration “may influence the local government polls, but that will be not the case at all in the national election”.
