BNP`s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. File PhotoThe BNP is deeply perturbed by the reovery of a ‘crude bomb’ from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), commented the party Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
His remarks came on Thursday (Jun 6) while adressing the media at the BNP headquarters at Naya Paltan, hours after police recovered a bottle filled with petrol, that looked like a petrol bomb infront of the university registrar’s room
The party’s reservation is based on the fact that their incarcerated chief Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at the BSMMU hospital since Apr1.
“We have deep reservations about whether this incident is part of a master plan,” Rizvi said.
“Recovering a bomb from a place where Begun Khaleda Zia is undergoing treatment has surprised the nation,” he added.
Asking whether the incident was part of a ‘master plan’ and whether there was some ill-motive behind it, Rizvi said, “The security at a place where Khaleda Zia is undergoing treatment cannot be that lax.”
“Was the lax in security on purpose then?” he asked.
Demanding proper treatment and tightening security for Khaleda, Rizvi said that this proves either the government is indifferent towards her security or other conspiracies were at play.
