BNP’s Rumeen Farhana submitted the nomination form for the reserved seat for women in Parliament to Returning Officer Md Abul Kashem at the Election Commission on Monday (May 20).BNP’s Rumeen Farhana has submitted the nomination form for the reserved seat for women in Parliament.

She submitted the form to Returning Officer Md Abul Kashem at the Election Commission on Monday (May 20).

 According to the schedule, the last day to submit the nomination form for the reserved seat is May 20, scrutiny is May 21, withdrawal is May 28 and voting is on Jun 16.

 If the nomination passes scrutiny, Rumeen will be elected unopposed to the one reserved seat for women BNP has according to the seat distribution.

“The gazette will be published if the returning officer sees that all the papers are in order,” EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed.

According to the 11th parliamentary polls result, 43 seats were reserved for Awami League, four for Jatiya Party, one for BNP and one for Workers in the reserved women seats.

Prior to BNP going to Parliament, the 49 leaders for the reserved seats were elected unopposed.
