BNP senior leaders will meet on Friday to discuss the next course of actions regarding the release of its Chairperson ahead of Eid, said party sources.

The meeting is convened at the instruction of acting chairperson Tareque Rahman and it will be held at Gulshan party office around 4pm, said a senior leader.

The meeting is likely to discuss about the health condition of detained BNP chief Khaleda Zia and her release from jail ahead of Eid, said another source.

He said a discussion may take place on the possibilities of creating an electoral alliance among the anti-government political forces.

Acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is expected to brief media after the meeting.
