BNP welcomes Dhaka, Riyadh instruments

“On behalf of the people of Bangladesh, we offer our sincere gratitude to the to the custodian of the two holy mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman,” BNP International Affairs Secretary Nawshad Zamir said in a statement on Monday (Mar 4).
“On the arrival of a Saudi delegation today [Thursday] in Bangladesh to look for prospects for large scale investment in the sectors of oil refinery, fertilizer, rail transport, aeroplane servicing and maintenance factory and many others, we convey our heartiest welcome” he added.
Zamir said that BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, was the pioneer of Saudi Arabia - Bangladesh relations both commercially and diplomatically.
He added that Ziaur Rahman initiated work for the human resources and today thousands of Bangladeshis work in Saudi Arabia and contribute to the second largest GDP that comes through remittance.
“During Begum Khaleda Zia's tenure, the Saudi General Investment Authority invested in numerous projects in Bangladesh. We are thankful for these investment initiatives,” he said.
He hoped that the GDP growth of Bangladesh will continue and that expect that the visit of the Commercial delegation and their investment in Bangladesh will continue to be beneficial for both the countries.
