Sultan Mansur Hours after taking oath as a lawmaker, Sultan Muhammed Mansur Ahmed has been expelled from the Gano Forum and opposition coalition Jatiya Oikya Front.
Mansur, who won the Moulvibazar-2 seat on the Gano Forum’s ticket, was sworn by the Speaker around 11am on Wednesday.
He also sits on the policymaking Steering Committee of the Oikya Front — the coalition led by Gano Forum chief Kamal Hossain with the BNP as its largest member.
Around 5pm, the Gano Forum announced that Mansur was expelled from the party as well as the Oikya Front panel.
“He has been ousted for going against the party’s decision,” Gano Forum General Secretary Mostofa Mohsin Montu told a media call at the party headquarters.
Mansur was granted a “primary membership” of the party on Nov 10 last year, he said before adding, “Now he has been expelled.”
