No matter how intense the repression, BNP cannot be destroyed, said party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Saying that cases have been lodged against 2.5 million activists, Mirza Fakhrul commented, “Despite all efforts to decimate BNP, the party will rise like the Phoenix.”

The veteran BNP leader made the comment on Tuesday (Mar 5), at a discussion to mark the 13th imprisonment anniversary of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

“Despite relentless oppression, nationalists will stand firm and more forward.”

With cases and the incarceration of our chairman, the target is to eradicate us from politics, he commented.

Comparing Bangladesh with North Korea, he said, “People do not have independence here.”

He, however, expressed satisfaction that Chhatra Dal was taking part in the DUCSU election.
